This is a rare antique Persian papier mache jewelry box just into our antiques mall. It features the classic Persian papier mache form with raised dome top and intricately cut front on lid. Almost every inch has been hand painted with detailed scenes. The top is one large scene that seems to be brimming with life. You can see a variety of people and animals going about activities of the time. The front has three small over lapping drops that fir perfectly into its bottom part as you can see from our photos with two hunting scenes. Each of the sides is uniquely hand painted with people and animals. The scenes are outlined with black and gold highlights. The inside has been painted black.
