The Belgian-born sculptor Pol Bury, began his career as a painter of surrealism, which he soon abandoned to devote himself to the art of motion, becoming one of the leading kinetic sculptors of the twentieth century. His work can be found in numerous collections, both public and private throughout the country. One of his more well-known works of art is the L'Octagon fountain sculpture in San Francisco. In this example he takes ordinary wall art and brings it to life. The Statue of Liberty can dance on her pedestal as the frame is tipped from side to side.
