Waterford Thomas Jefferson Hurricane Lamp

Waterford Thomas Jefferson Hurricane Lamp

This lamp was designed to honor Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States. As stated in the enclosed pamphlet, "In the annals of AMERICA'S HERITAGE, Thomas Jefferson stands as a symbol of civility, a towering source of enlightenment. This THOMAS JEFFERSON HURRICANE LAMP is Waterford Crystal's tribute to the rare figure whose pursuit of the light forged frontiers of both mind and matters."
"To honor the Founding Father, they chose an Eighteenth Century form of lighting and cutting techniques of the same period for this addition to the AMERICA'S HERITAGE Collection, the Thomas Jefferson Hurricane Lamp. The strong verticals of the design speak of the earth's search for light. Swag cuts circle the hurricane to suggest the moving cloud of light and are balanced by technically challenging scallop cuts. Panels of olive cuts produce a kaleidoscopic effect symbolizing the enrichment of human life by the "light of science."

This is one of the beautiful Waterford Crystal pieces from our Fort Myers antiques mall. We also buy Waterford Crystal and offer free antique appraisals. If you have Waterford Crystal or other fine crystal we can help you with please contact us.
